Rumors, Rumors, Rumors and More Rumors of Hoke’s next Right of Passage
I not sure about you, but I am completely fed-up with the national media hyperbole; the ill-informed sport blogging neophytes (i.e., the fan) and those annoying sport tics known as beat reporters who have anointed themselves to the role consummate prognosticators. Demagoguery and public discourse aside, Brady Hoke isn’t going anywhere. As far as the facts are concerned, he hasn’t spoken with Michigan about the head coaching position. Moreover, the SDSU AD hasn’t received a phone call from Michigan asking permission to speak with Hoke; yet, Michigan claims its going to make a decision within the next few days. News flash everyone: Brady Hoke isn’t going anywhere! Michigan isn’t the dream job that everyone thinks it is. They are losing top recruits left and right since the Rodriguez firing; … Read entire article »

Is Brady Hoke a dead “coach” walking?
Brady Hoke unceremoniously departed Ball State at the most inconvenient time to take on the SDSU head coaching job. Remember, that was between Ball State’s Bowl game and their last game of the season. Uh oh, UNLV is the last game of the season and SDSU is headed to a bowl. Of course, that was Ball State and this well, this is SDSU. The difference between the two locations; a lot to say the least. SDSU Is located in sunny so-cal (aka America’s finest city). SDSU tripled his salary to be the head coach. To keep Hoke, most likely, SDSU will have to shell out some more money. No problem, SDSU has much much deeper pockets than Ball State; and the Alumi are not afraid to spend it. Remember the … Read entire article »

Brady Hoke leaving? No-why in the hell would he do that!
It’s almost humorous; Brady Hoke leaving SDSU that is after only 2 years. Personally, I’m tired of it! The media has run amuck once again with their innuendos regarding the possibility that Brady Hoke would leave for another coaching job; for instance the Minnesooota job. WHAT! What a canard!. Brady Hoke JUST GOT to San Diego State. Why would he want to leave America’s finest city with the most fertile ground of recruits (arguably the richest in the country). He has the unique opportunity and capability to build a once fledgling program into a National ranked powerhouse (already 7-2). He just left Ball State for San Diego State and tripled his salary. Oh, and if he continues to win and go to Bowls that salary will rise. I just do … Read entire article »

3-1 Start with win over Utah State
SDSU wins 41-7; my prediction: 42-17. Not bad. In any event SDSU did not let its’ fans down. The Aztecs put on a aerial show this time and Vincent Brown was allowed to finally come out and play; amassing a fortuitous 177 yards and two touchdowns. Lindley was his usual self (a machine-not a man), putting up incredulous numbers again; performing a 362 yard aerial ballet and punctuating that with three touchdowns. Utah State, in a nutshell, was simply dominated from the start of the game to the finish: as they should have been. Brady Hoke said-it himself, and has repeated the incantation over-and-over: we (SDSU) need to establish our identity and that starts with playing intense and smart football the entire 60 minutes. Well, they are, in no uncertain … Read entire article »

SDSU Football recruiting class for 2010 taking shape with stars.
One 4-star and 13 Three Star prospects lead the SDSU recruiting pack for 2010. This years recruiting class has Hoke focusing his attention on rebuilding both lines; in particular, the offensive line. If size was ever a concern, it will be no longer. Leading the offensive charge is Juan Bolanos; at a mammoth 6-7, 340 pounds look for him to cover Lindley’s backside at the left tackle position. Complimenting Bolanos are two other notable acquisitions: Emmanuel Beavers from Wilmington Ca and Riley Gauld from Santa Maria. Both are 300+ pounds and will add the missing and needed size to improve both the running game and pass protection: an offensive dynamic that has been notably missing for many years. Another offensive line acquisition worth mentioning is the recent addition by the … Read entire article »

Al Borges seems to have trouble with Commitment
Hey Al, commitment must be a hard word for you to digest. Coach Hoke expects commitment from any player he recruits; meaning, there is simply no need to recruit a player who will not commit to the program as well as his teammates and fans unless he is willing to commit. Why would he expect anything less from his coaching staff? Metaphorically speaking: Lead by example I always say. When Coach Hoke hired Al Borges, I’m quite sure that he wasn’t sitting back in his chair saying: well I have Borges for only a year; so, I better start looking for his replacement now. No, absolutely not. He pulled together a first-rate staff to begin the long and arduous process of rebuilding a losing program. Commitment works both ways Coach Borges, … Read entire article »
