Bowl Selection Committee shafts SDSU: Adds Insult to Injury!

The NEW ORLEANS BOWL!!! WHAT!!!! LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE!! WHO!!!!! What-a-Joke! I mean this bowl committee selected UCLA (6-6) for the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against the Illinois; yet, SDSU gets New Orleans on December 17 against an absolute nobody but finishes 8-4 in back-to-back seasons (hence: insult to Injury). WHAT PLANET DOES THIS COMMITTEE COME FROM!!!!! This is an absolute outrage and a clear indicator that ESPN and the bogus and biased selection committee do not know what in the hell they are doing. It’s a classic case of disrespect and I’m tired of it. SDSU deserved a better bowl game. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl was perfect. Considering the fact that SDSU would have destroyed UCLA this year, and the fact that we have the top running back in the nation … Read entire article »

Aztec’s put a leash on the Dogs – win number 8 and get the Oil Can!

Congratulations to the Aztecs and most of all to the seniors! The Aztecs finish 8-4 for the second year in a row and will most likely receive a bowl invitation to either New Mexico or San Francisco. Ronnie Hillman had another field day, scoring 4 touchdowns for the third time in his career and rushing for 178 yards. Lindley finished with 281 yards passing and no touchdowns. Interesting to note that the Aztecs were down by 21 points before to Fresno State back in 1974 and came back to win: Got to love it win history repeats itself! Moreover, the last time the Aztec’s went to back-to-back bowls was during the 1967 and 1968 seasons, prior to SDSU entering the Division I level; they had never accomplished this at the … Read entire article »

Aztecs go to 5-3 against worst team in the 120 Team Div-I League

Aztecs were less than impressive in their first-half hard fought win against arguably the worst team in the last two years in Division-I football. Wow, a 7 point lead going into the second-half was unnerving to say the least as a fan. Watching the game during the first-half had me reminiscing about the Aztec’s of yesteryear; meaning, playing inconsistent football coupled with finding ways to keep teams in the game and subsequently lose. Well, they didn’t do that tonight and found a second-half gear to dismantle any residual threat by New Mexico to win 35-7. Ronnie Hillman gets player of the game once again with 29 carries for 143 yards. Article viewed:141 … Read entire article »

Tyler Bray got what he deserves: a bowl loss!

Tyler Bray, if anyone remembers, was suppose to come to SDSU for football; but, he decided to &$ck SDSU (after committing) and leave for hick-ville USA, aka Tennessee. What a dumb ass! Well, what comes-around goes-around and he got exactly what he deserved a bad loss in a bowl game! Good for you Bray – next time you will honor your commitment-Jerk! Aztecs are Bowl Eligible!!!

Where were you in 1998? That’s how long ago it has been since the were in their last Bowl game. Not any more, in 2010 they are in! Now, if your Brady Hoke the season is far from over. The Aztecs are 6-2 and have Colorado State next at home. As Brady Hoke continues to remind everyone after every game, SDSU is in-it to win-it: a MWC Championship that is. Congratulations Aztecs: you are going bowling! The Wyoming game was less than stellar, in fact, it was shades of the New Mexico game: poor defense, sloppy special teams; errant offensive drives coupled with interceptions and a awful running game. Adding insult to injury, more replay booth controversy when Wyoming got away with a touchdown when the replay officials once again got … Read entire article »

Attendance at games still remains luke-warm!

They are who we thought they might be-the football program that is. Incredulous as it may seem (or appear), the SDSU Football program well-is good! And to my confoundment they (knock on the proverbial wood) will be “bowling” in December (12 years sure is a long time to wait); however, better late than never (pardon the banal cliche). So, I ask myself, if they win the fans will come-right? Not exactly. The attendance this year has improved somewhat, but attendance issues remain prevalent despite the recent success. In 2009, the average attendance was 24,464 per game. Unimpressive indeed when one harkens back to the year 1977 when the average attendance reached a mind-boggling 42,040 per game. My humble prognostication has the Aztecs entering the Utah game at 7-3. If the Aztecs play … Read entire article »

“Experts” got it all wrong: Aztec will finish 8-4 and get to a Bowl in 2010!

Flash-Aztecs to finish Sixth! Why the “experts” got it wrong. Last year the Aztecs were battling for basement honors against none other than Wyoming. Today the media “experts” have the Aztecs moving up two spots from eighth to sixth for the 2010 season. Those experts, as they so often do, got this prediction all wrong. My prediction: The Aztecs will finish with a 8-4 record this year and a 4th place finish in the MWC. Sounds ludicrous! Not really. If you examine the schedule; the returning starters, and the incoming players not present on last year’s team and you begin to see what I see: a good (a very good) team that has been woefully underestimated in terms of talent, size, and capability. Last year the Aztecs were 4-8. But, if you … Read entire article »

Wait-a-minute or second that-is and TCU is in the Championship Game

Your telling me that TCU was one-second away from getting into the National Championship game! WOW! Considering that time had run off the clock, Texas was, technically, the loser. So, TCU is playing Alabama. Uh-Oh, not so fast; that dreaded booth-driven replay afforded the BCS clock-wielding officials one last opportunity to ensure that any chance of a “mid-major” playing in the Championship game was vaporized. There was no way in hell that these pretentious and hyper-noxious BCS committee members wanted that; so, here we are again plagued with the infamous post-season controversy of 6 undefeated teams vying for king-of-the-football hill, and wondering when these dumb-asses will finally institute a playoff system. Year-after-year we wait for the playoff system: the only system that will strip the BCS committee of its power, greed and biased selection process. The only system that … Read entire article »

TCU vs. Boise State: What a Joke!

Firstly, I would like to start out by suggesting that TCU boycott the bowl. Spitting back in the face of a committee that just spat on them only seems reasonable after all. The BCS selection process is a Joke and every member on that committee should resign and apologize to TCU for defaming their football achievement! The BCS selection committee has once again sullied the selection-process by disrespecting the MWC! This corrupted; self-righteous and fraudulent organization steps up to the plate and wantonly screws the MWC out of an opportunity to punch the SEC in the Face (as they did last year); as well as, step on the face of the corrupted BCS selection process that ostensibly exhibits favoritism towards the SEC. TCU is the best team in the nation; they would … Read entire article »
