Hillman goes Pro!

Unfortunately, Hillman has decided to pull a Kawhi Leonard by entering into the Professional arena (i.e., NFL Draft) after his sophomore year. However, this isn’t Basketball, an regardless of what Hillman’s ego is telling him, the NFL is far less forgiving when it comes to a transitional period. In other words, Hillman got bad advice. Hillman is undersized; performed poorly during the bowl game; and, when playing big time opponents (i.e., Michigan, TCU, etc.) he crumbled. This receipe produces at best a late pick; meaning, its highly likely that he will get picked in the late third or fourth round; if, and only if, he has a stellar combine. Bottom line:  Hillman needed one more year to develop and grow. If he had stayed and replicated his performance from the past two years, while getting stronger, then he would have been assured a second round or higher pick in the 2013 draft.

Rocky Long said it himself, if a player can get drafted in the first or second round then he should declare early; if not, then stay in college.  You can spew the disposition that he may get injured; I’m not buying it! After all, he wasn’t the greatest student, having to work at an Applebee’s for a year after high school before he was finally able to gain admittance into SDSU. It’s likely that he had received misinformation and pressure from the family to go early for the money (what else is new); nevertheless, good luck Ronnie I hope for your sake that I’m wrong.
