Garret Green is an Aztec!!

You know, you got to give it to Coach Fisher, he got another one! First Polee from St. Johns, now the towering 6-11 Green from LSU. How important was this acquisition? If delayed decision is any indication of Carwell’s fate, it’s looking more and more like Carwell we be denied his 6th year. If that’s the case, Green is huge: no pun intended. Projected 2011 Starting Line-up shaping up: Garret Green (6-11 C) Xavier Thames (6-3 PG) Jamaal Franklin (6-5 SG/SF) Deshawn Stephens (6-9 F) Chase Tapley (6-2 G) From insidethehall.com: “This decision was so hard,” Green said. “It was so hard on me. We Got’em! Matt Shrigley that is…

Wow. Another stellar recruit headed to SDSU. Matt Shrigley is from La Costa Canyon and grades out at 90 via ESPN. From ESPN the following profile sums up Matt’s abilities on the court Strengths: Shrigley played with purpose and toughness and it was especially exemplified in the way he attacked off the dribble. His shooting touch is quite good out to the stripe, but if he continues to not settle for jump shots and attack in traffic with more consistency, his stock will rise. His frame needs strength, but he is deceptively bouncy as he had a couple of dunks that were highly impressive in traffic. Weaknesses: Shrigley has a rangy frame that needs to get stronger. He can elevate to the rim, but he has to finish more consistently with contact. He is … Read entire article »

A 6-7, 228 lb Power Forward recruited by LA Tech in 2007 has left to pursue his basketball future either with SDSU or Oregon. Currently in talks with SDSU, Olu who received a 91 scouts grade by ESPN and 4 stars from Scout.com, averaged 14.2 PPG; 9.4 RPG and shot almost 30 from behind the arc while at LA Tech. Looks like Fisher is looking for a tweener to fill the roll of Kawhi Leonard if he leaves. No worries, even if Kawhi stays, Olu will add that desired depth coveted by MWC teams that play at altitude.
