Aztec’s win ugly shoot’s down Air Force!

It wasn’t pretty; in fact, in some instances is was down right ugly. Sloppy transition play the led to errant run-and-guns by SDSU kept Air Force close during most of the game. Going scoreless fior 6:05 minute stretch highlighted by Rahon missing three free throws. Finally, they decided to play their game with dribble-drives and strength in the paint. LB makes a great cross-over and beuatiful runner to score two! Then Tapley gets three consecutive driving lay-ups to finish off Air Force. Aztec‘s win 57-44 in front of another sellout at Vejas Arena; 10 consecutive wins now leading the conference by one full game.

Deshawn Stephans is starting to show confidence; getting better game-by-game and his free throws are finally starting to fall; going 4-4 at the charity stripe and finishing with 6 points for the night. Jamaal continues to be a barn-burner, topping off the night with 14 point and 10 rebounds-making this his fifth double-double (can you say Kawhi-Junior!). 13-game in row for Tapley continues smooth sailing with another productive evening, scoring 16 points on the night. Finally, the always relentless;  selfless and steady-state play play from Tim Shelton yielded 6 point, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

You have to be pleased with the production of the bench and the growing confidence that Aztec fans’s are seeing from LB and Deshawn. The Aztecs will need this performance in high altitude games.
