Message to BYU: If you can’t take being made fun of, then get out of the arena. Free speech comes with a price and that price is one of tolerance. No one was hurt; no one was singled out and no ones character was besmirch. The BYU fan needs to get over over it! I’m continuing to read articles about BYU attendees filing complaints; saying it was classless and offensive. Oh well, if you didn’t like it, then you could have left the arena and got a refund. Its fans such as the BYU consortium that ****-it up for everyone else.
Political correctness has run amuck, and I am deeply disappointed in the interim athletic directory (Don Oberhelman) for cow-towing to the political correctness bullies; they simply have nothing better to do than complain an attack freedom of expression and speech. If anyone should be ashamed, it should be BYU and their fans for cherry picking the usage of the Constitution by leveraging the first amendment to carry out their “eccentric” religious practices, yet condemn those who exploit the unfavorable side of the first amendment that, in this case, failed to gel with their particular religion.
Get a life BYU and leave the SDSU FAN and the Constitution alone!

Wyoming is simply a terrible team. They will more than likely finish last or next to last this year. They are one of the worst three-point shooting teams and yet, they won the game in the last two-minutes with 6 three-pointers. If there is one thing I can not tolerate is a team that wins a game based on their shots from the arc; not on their basketball play as a whole.
Wyoming played far beyound what they are capable of; similar to New Mexico. So, with that said, Wyoming will pay for this embarrassing loss when they play SDSU again at Vejas arena. My message to the SDSU players is: Never forget! Remember how it felt losing to an inferior opponent and then make them pay for it.
Wyoming had no business winning that game; and, SDSU had no business losing that game. I can only hope that SDSU continues to gel; in turn, their confidence should increase, and then they they will be able to finish off teams that simply have no business beating SDSU.

I am not surprised by this win. After all, if you or anyone else would have performed due diligence regarding the Aztec players, you would have responded the same way I did. See, when the Aztecs play at their level, they will beat about anyone in the country; they are simply that good. Yes, I understand that New Mexico has received all of the attention (excluding ESPN of course), given the fact that they are a “Top 25″ team. I have to laugh at that one, because SDSU continues to get snubbed by the national media and the Pollsters; yet, they smoked Arizona and dismantled New Mexico.
The game was close but only in score. Malcolm Thomas was simply on fire leading the team with a season high 18 points and 15 rebounds. SDSU dominated the paint and transition game while pressing New Mexico defensively for most of the game, holding them to a season low 64 points. New Mexico tried in vain to stay close with desperate play from behind the arc (8 of 21); yet, even that wasn’t enough. Considering that SDSU isn’t necessarily the best three-point shooting team in the land, they still outperformed New Mexico from behind the arc shooting for 7 of 18.
All-in-all it was a good performance by the Aztecs and a good win against a decent team. I say decent because New Mexico, in my humble opinion, is somewhat of over rated team that has peaked early and will steadily decline in performance as conference play continues.

I was at the Holiday Bowl with a friend and as I looked around at the 70 plus thousand fans I quickly realized that this was in fact a College Football game. I then made a comment to my friend: Every Aztec football game should have this many people when playing at Qualcomm. He naturally chuckled and responded by saying “maybe one-day”.
Having been to Happy Valley to watch Penn State play in front of 95,000, I have a sense as to how big College Football is elsewhere. I also know that the Aztecs can, at the very least, field an audience of 50,000 on average. I know at this juncture that sounds utterly ridiculous, but maybe just one day the Aztecs will play a regular season game in front of a crowd like the one I sat with during the 2009 Holiday Bowl. Maybe, just maybe, one day.

Drew Gordon had an opportunity to make the right choice; yet he chose New Mexico. There are many schools of thought regarding why Drew ultimately chose New Mexico; however, I can’t imagine what New Mexico had over San Diego. Nevertheless, here is my analysis as to why Drew should have chosen SDSU over New Mexico.
Let’s start with the most obvious reason. His father is an alumnus of SDSU and played on the Basketball team with the likes of Cage and Gwynn. This tie is a strong one and I’m sure that his father (deep down) would like nothing more than to see his son play for his Alma-mater.
The second reason has to do with geography. SDSU is close to his family when compared geographically to the other locations. His father works in the Los Angeles area; so, a quick drive (2 hours) and either Drew or his family are together.
The third reason is centered on team play and chemistry as well as the opportunity to start immediately. SDSU is a fast, transition-based team that works off a constant 8-man rotation during each game. Drew works well in a dynamic offensive so SDSU fits his style of play perfectly.
The fourth reason looks at the future of the program. With the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Chase Tapley the Aztecs are going to be mighty powerful next season; the season Drew is eligible to play. The chance for post-season play is high and the formidable force that Drew would add makes selecting SDSU all the more enticing. Also, the fans have shown unequivocally their desire, appreciation and hopes that Drew join the team; more so than any of the other teams in my opinion.
The final reason would simply be the fact that SDSU is located in America’s finest city. The perfect weather year round; the campus itself is situated amongst all the action; the beaches, as well as a host of other activities that Drew could exploit during his stay in San Diego.
SDSU is a great school on many levels: excellent learning institution; excellent facilities with a state-of-the-art basketball stadium; the sun and beaches year round, and most importantly a great Basketball team with a National Championship coach at the helm. Drew, unfortunately, saw it differently and chose otherwise. He will invariably regret that choice when New Mexico falls to the mighty Aztec Basketball empire next year.
