Opening Conference Game

A 61-44 victory over Air Force to start conference play. it was sloppy and the shooting was cold but the Aztec’s athleticism was too much for Air Force. At first appearance, the Aztec offense seems as if it hasn’t really improved over November’s abysmal scoring performance. However, in the month of December their drive and dish offense seems to be the difference with a 20% increase in scoring.  This is a classic case of creeping incrementalism: the defense continues to stymie their opponents offense, while the Aztec offense appears to have made the necessary adjustments with the addition of Lo-Wade.

Stats:

Held the Falcons to just 32% shooting; remember, the Falcons are known for being a disciplined offense that tends to perform well in the scoring category.

40 to 27 on rebounds against the Falcons; you can thank Tim Shelton.

11-3 Overall: Best start since 84-85 team.

Lo-Wade: 12-11-8: near a triple double. I think he is back.
