U100 Prospect considering SDSU

Nov 25

Jamal Franklin is a prototypical Fisher recruit. Fast and Athletic with great length and leaping ability. He is currently considering SDSU, USD, Penn State and Oregan State to name a few. I would say from that list and the growing popularity of SDSU basketball, there is a high probability that he becomes an Aztec. ESPN ranks him at a 90 and lists him on the U100 list of top 100 players.

Spain: Illegitimacy to Legitimacy

Nov 23

The Fresno state game was more than just a shellacking of the opponent, it was Kyle’s re-birth of sorts; or, should I say migration from illegitimacy to legitimacy. Having incurred an 11 game suspension last year, Kyle disappointed the team, himself and the fans. Maybe, during the off season he had an epiphany, a revelation that had him thinking MWC Champions; NCAA first round birth and victory or, NBA prospect.

Ostensibly, Kyle has put on some size during the off season and his performance is uncharacteristically aggressive; most notably, his rebounding. The 22-point performance was exceptional indeed and with Lo-wade out a necessity. He’s the ad hoc leader of the team now; so, there is a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. He has something to prove to his fans, his coach but most importantly himself. However, given his latest performance, I think he is well on his way to incontrovertible vindication and a successful senior year.

A win is a win or is it?

Nov 16

A win is a win right; well I should say and ugly win is an ugly win. The bottom line is SDSU misses Lo Wade. The win just wasn’t that strong, or should I say dominate. A team with SDSU’s talent must meet certain expectations. One of them is a 30+ point dominate win over a sub-par team like UCSD. Instead it was a 19 point win-not dominate-but a win. So, as a long time fan with expectations I’ll take the win, but I expect dominate wins when facing these teams. Think about it, Arizona State is fast approaching and 6 minute stretches without scoring is not going to suffice when playing teams that are nationally ranked.

It’s a win and call you what you will: rust, slow start; missing Lo Wade or Amo; but, SDSU better turn the talent on sooner rather than later if they want the respect they deserve.

What say you?
